Where is ROTRAC?
We operate berth RO-RO 4 in the Port of Constanța. Our office is inside the port, at Birouri Stadion, Gate 3 (Poarta 3), 900900 Constanța, Romania. Road access is through Port Gate 3.
Does berth RO-RO 4 handle ro-ro vessels?
No. The berth name is historical. At berth RO-RO 4 we work general cargo and bulk vessels: steel products, big bags, wood pulp, grain, fertilisers, minerals, timber, machinery and project cargo.
What size of vessel can you take?
Vessels up to 20,000 dwt and a draft of up to 13 m, at a 180 m quay. For larger vessels we look at how we can accommodate them on request; give us the vessel dimensions in your quote request.
How fast do you discharge a vessel?
Our Mantsinen 200 DES electric quay crane handles 5,000 t in 24 hours. The actual rate depends on the cargo, the lifting gear and how the cargo moves on.
Do you work nights, weekends and holidays?
Yes. The quay works 24/7, night shifts included. The commercial office replies on working days.
Does the cargo have to go through storage?
No. We can transload directly from ship to truck or barge and back, with no storage in between. When needed, we store it in our 20,000 m² of warehouses, covered areas and open yard.
Can you store cargo under bond?
Yes. Our warehouses are inside the free zone of the Port of Constanța, so non-EU cargo can wait under bond, without paying import duties, until it is released for free circulation or re-exported. Customs formalities are handled through our partners.
Can you send cargo on by Danube barge or by rail?
Yes. We discharge straight into the barge, and arrange the Danube leg with partner barge operators, up to Serbia, Hungary, Austria or Germany. For rail, cargo reaches the wagon by truck, and trains are provided by partner rail operators.
Do you stuff and strip containers?
Yes, in our warehouses in the Port of Constanța North, close to the SOCEP terminal. We also work with containers from CSCT (Constanța South). We have our own weighbridge for VGM weighing.
Can you handle customs, ship agency or transport too?
Yes, through our partners: customs representation, ship agency, port forwarding, road and sea transport. You get one quote and one contact.
Can a vessel call only for spares or repairs?
Yes. We take technical and non-commercial calls: spares and stores, afloat repairs or lay-by, subject to berth availability.
